Women learn from fellow executives and entrepreneurs

Mentoring Monday

At Mentoring Monday, in speed-dating style, each mentee had seven short minutes to share their goals and pick the brains of the mentors, divided into three distinct groups: executives, founders and entrepreneurs, and branding/marketing/storytelling.

What is your personal brand? And how do you even get one of those?

That was the topic of a short but energetic presentation by guest speaker Guisselle Nuñez, director of public relations, marketing, and government relations at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District, at the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Mentoring Monday event on Feb. 25.

“One of my passions … is to help women, especially women of color, better understand and better harness how to communicate their value, and to be able to advocate for themselves by building a strong personal brand,” Nuñez told the group.
